What is astrology?

Astrology is an ancient Indian science that sheds light on various aspects of a person's life by studying planets, constellations, signs, bhavas, dashas and transits. Based on this science, a person's future, nature, health, financial status, marriage, offspring, education, job, business as well as success and failure are predicted. Astrology is one of the six Vedangas of the Vedas and is also called the eyes of the Vedas, because it helps in observing the past, present and future. It has three main parts: Siddhanta, Samhita and Hora (Falit). Through the horoscope, the possible opportunities and difficulties in life are understood by studying the interrelationships of the nine planets, twelve signs, twenty-seven constellations and twelve bhavas. Astrology is not limited to fortune telling only, but its main purpose is to guide in making the right decisions, predict crises and bring about positive changes in life through remedies such as mantras, donations, gems and vows.
